About the teacher: Mr. Seitz

Hi, my name is Jordan Seitz. I've taught in Encampment for 5 years, and am very excited to start my 6th. I grew up in Southern Michigan surrounded by farm fields and small wood lots. I attended college at Northern Michigan University on Michigan's North Shore along Lake Superior. After graduating, I substitute taught for half a year before moving further east to guide youth hiking and backpacking trips in Maine and New Hampshire. During that time I signed onto my job here in Encampment and have never regretted the decision. I love everything about our valley, and consider it to be the best area to live in Wyoming. In June 2010, I got married and moved my bride Brooke out here where she eventually became our school's art teacher! Aside from school or coaching JH track, I can be found hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, canoeing, fishing, and occasionally helping out with cattle branding. The fall season is dominated by hunting antelope, deer, and elk, primarily with archery equipment.
